Get an alert when a user passes a daily AI limit
Set a daily AI spend limit per app in Cockpitify and get a push when any user's AI cost for the day passes it.
A single user can burn through your AI budget in an afternoon. Set a daily limit, and Cockpitify tells you the moment anyone’s AI spend for the day passes it.
Before you start
AI cost must be tracked per user with @cockpitify/node. See Track AI cost per user.
Set the limit
- Open Settings → Notifications and scroll to Daily AI limit.
- Enter an amount in USD in the field for your app, for example
5. - Tap Save. The row shows the limit per day.
The limit is per app. Leave the field empty to turn it off.
What happens
When a user passes the limit, you get a push like “Daily AI limit exceeded: this user spent $7.20 today (limit $5)”. The Summary tab also shows how many users passed the limit today, and the user’s page shows their AI usage.
Make sure the User AI limit category is Instant in the notification settings.
If it says the feature needs an update
The daily limit arrived in ops 0.5.0. Update the app in Settings → Apps → Update.
