Cockpitify Help

Subscriptions, trials and billing issues

Read MRR and what moved it each month, trial conversion and cancel days, and the subscribers whose payment failed, in Cockpitify.

The Subscriptions screen answers three questions: how much recurring revenue the app has, how many free trials turn into paying, and whose payment just failed. It reads the sales RevenueCat sends, so connect RevenueCat first. Sandbox purchases are always left out.

Open it

  • Phone: on the Margin tab, tap the Subscriptions card. Trials and Billing issues are rows on that screen.
  • On the web: Money → Subscriptions, with the Overview, Trials and Billing issues tabs.

Overview: MRR and what moved it

  • MRR: monthly recurring revenue, before store fees, with how it moved since last month end. A weekly plan counts as 4.35 weeks, a yearly plan as a twelfth, so short months don’t inflate it.
  • Active subscriptions, ARPPU (MRR per paying customer) and MRR at risk (cancelled but still running, or in a grace period).
  • MRR · month ends: the last 12 month ends, with what you keep after store fees and tax as a dashed line.
  • The month’s bridge: from last month end to now, customer by customer: New, Back (paid before), Expansion, Contraction and Churn.
  • Product mix: MRR by billing period, store or country, and this month’s one-time sales (lifetime and credit packs), which are not MRR.
  • Contribution after AI: MRR minus the AI cost of paying users, and how many cents of each dollar are left. Only people who may see AI cost see it.

Trials

  • The headline says how many decided trials paid, for example “14 of 48 decided trials paid”. Trials still running or in billing retry aren’t decided yet and stay out of the rate.
  • With small numbers the rate shows a range, for example “29% (range 19–41%)”, so you don’t read too much into a few people.
  • Day auto-renew was turned off: how many people cancelled on each day of their trial. A pile on day 0 means people try and leave at once.
  • Weekly cohorts: trials by start week. Hatched weeks aren’t mature yet: their trials and the 16-day billing retry aren’t over.
  • A payment within 16 days after the trial ends counts as a conversion, including a switch to another product or to lifetime.

Billing issues

  • MRR at risk splits into In grace period (the store keeps access while it retries, still in MRR) and Retrying (no access, up to 60 days).
  • Recovered · 30 days and Lost · 30 days: subscriptions that paid again, and those that ended because the payment never went through.
  • The list shows who, the product, the monthly amount and the deadline. Tap a person to open them.
  • Every failed payment also sends a Payment failed notification; it follows the Premium and cancellations setting. See Set up notifications.
