Monthly profit, fixed costs and ads
See your app's profit per month in Cockpitify, add fixed costs, connect Google Ads and AdMob, and attribute AdMob ad revenue to users.
App profit puts the whole month in one number: subscriptions and ad revenue, minus ad spend, service bills and your fixed costs.
Open it
On the Margin tab, tap the App profit card. Use the arrows to move between months; the previous month’s profit is shown for comparison. While a month is still running, the screen says how far into the month you are.
How profit is calculated
Profit = revenue (subscriptions spread over their period + ads) − ad spend − services − fixed costs.
- Services use the bill when the provider reports one, otherwise what was taken from the balance or recorded.
- Amounts are in USD; other currencies are converted at the day’s ECB rate.
Add fixed costs
Things like the Apple developer fee, a domain or a server:
- On App profit, tap Add fixed cost.
- Enter a Name, the Amount and the Currency (USD, EUR, TRY, or Other with a currency code).
- Choose the Period: Monthly, or Yearly, which counts as a twelfth each month.
- Set the Starting month, and an Ending month if it has ended.
- Tap Save.
Connect Google Ads and AdMob
This brings your Google Ads spend and AdMob’s finalised earnings into the profit. It is read-only: campaigns and ads are never changed.
- On App profit, tap Connect Google Ads and AdMob.
- Tap Connect with Google and approve access in the browser.
- Pick the Google Ads account. Under Campaigns, choose App campaigns to count every app campaign automatically (new ones included), or Pick to count only the ones you tick.
- Enter the Store app id: the Android package name or the App Store id.
- Choose the AdMob apps that belong to this app.
- Tap Save and read.
Data is read a few times a day; tap Read now to read it immediately. If you pick the same account or app for two Cockpitify apps, you’re warned, because the same money would count twice.
Ad revenue per user (AdMob)
To see which users earn you ad revenue, send AdMob’s paid-event value from your app with the Cockpitify React Native SDK (version 0.1.2 or later):
- In AdMob, open Settings → Account → Account controls, turn on Impression-level ad revenue and save.
- In your app, pass the ad’s paid events to Cockpitify:
import { onAdPaid } from '@cockpitify/react-native/admob'
// A banner: pass the paid-event handler with its ad unit id.
<BannerAd unitId={id} size={BannerAdSize.ANCHORED_ADAPTIVE_BANNER} onPaid={onAdPaid('banner', id)} />
For full-screen ads use trackAdRevenue(ad, 'rewarded'), and for the hooks API use recordAdRevenue. The Ad revenue screen in the app (Margin → Connect AdMob ad revenue) shows the exact code for your setup and waits for the first impression. Test ads may be worth $0.
