Read the Margin tab
What the Margin tab shows, how Cockpitify calculates margin per user from revenue, AI cost and store fees, and what's on the Free plan.
The Margin tab compares what each user pays with what they cost you in AI, so you can see which users make you money and which ones cost you.
How margin is calculated
Margin = net revenue − costs recorded per user (AI and similar) − store fee and tax.
- Net revenue comes from RevenueCat, after store commission and tax. Subscriptions are spread over the days they cover, and refunds come off the sale they belong to.
- AI cost comes from the calls recorded by
@cockpitify/node. - Ad revenue from AdMob is added when you connect it.
- Hosting and fixed costs are not included per user; they’re in Monthly profit.
To fill the tab you need both halves: RevenueCat and AI cost per user. Until then, the To complete the margin card shows what’s missing.
What you see
- After-AI contribution · 30 days: the total, with the share of profitable users and users losing money.
- The breakdown: net revenue, AI, store fee and tax, and ads if connected.
- Rows per plan, so you can compare monthly, yearly and free users.
- Losing the most: the users who cost more than they pay. Tap All to open the Users tab filtered to Losing money.
- Most profitable: the users who bring in the most after AI.
- Notes when something affects the total: people in a free trial (counted in the total but not in the shares), AI calls without a price, and revenue not yet matched to a user.

If it says “Update needed”
Margin arrived in ops 0.6.0. If your app was set up before that, tap Update, or go to Settings → Apps → Update. See Repair, update or remove.
